What do you mean by "archive files listed by title"? The post URL remains the same even if it is "archived".
Or you could just make life easier and switch to a better platform ;)
As to the study, I saw your post at Indefensible and that made me wonder about why it took him 3 weeks, too. Maybe he had other things lined up for stories before that. Then again, he's not a blogger, but still....
